1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) sets out what you may not do with Paysasa. It supports our Terms of Service and protects customers, partners and the financial system. Breaching it may lead to held funds, suspension, reporting to authorities or account closure.
2. Prohibited activities
- Fraud, impersonation, phishing, or using stolen cards, accounts or identities.
- Money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion or structuring payments to avoid limits.
- Processing payments for another business without our written approval (“payment aggregation”).
- Misleading buyers, selling counterfeit goods or ignoring valid refund and consumer rights.
- Abusing escrow, for example by creating sham trades or false delivery claims.
- Testing, scanning, overloading or attacking our systems, or bypassing rate limits or security controls.
- Sharing or selling API keys, or using another person’s credentials.
- Violating the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act, 2018 or any other law.
3. Prohibited and restricted businesses
We do not support: illegal drugs; weapons and ammunition; adult content involving exploitation; pyramid, Ponzi or get-rich-quick schemes; unlicensed financial, investment or deposit-taking services; unlicensed gambling; counterfeit or stolen goods; and any activity prohibited by Kenyan law or our partners. Some businesses, such as licensed gaming, travel, crypto-related services, charities and money services, need extra approval and documents. [Lawyer and compliance to finalise the list.]
4. Messaging and communications
Use payment requests, reminders (including Deni) and SMS only for genuine transactions with people who expect them. Do not send spam or harassing, threatening or misleading messages.
5. API and developer use
Keep keys secret, verify webhook signatures, respect rate limits and do not build services that hide the true source or destination of funds. Report vulnerabilities responsibly under our security page.
6. Monitoring and enforcement
We monitor activity for risk and may request information about your business or a transaction. We may delay, hold or reverse transactions, suspend features, report suspicious activity to the Financial Reporting Centre and cooperate with law enforcement as the law requires.
7. Report abuse
To report misuse or suspected fraud, email [email protected] or contact [email protected].
